National law

Obligations for services apply from: 2025-06-28

Authorities

How consumers complain (our summary): The Act contains no dedicated consumer-complaint provision; supervision is by the authorities in § 19 (for e-commerce: Česká obchodní inspekce). ČOI accepts complaints (podněty) via its e-podatelna / e-portal, data box, e-mail or post (https://coi.gov.cz/podatelna/) — general channel, not EAA-specific.

Where service providers must publish accessibility information

§ 14(1): the service provider publishes in its general terms and conditions ('ve všeobecných obchodních podmínkách') or a similar document information on how the service meets the accessibility requirements, including a description of the individual requirements; on request also in audio form; if published on a website, in commonly accessible formats. § 14(2): also a general description of the service and explanations needed to understand how it works. § 14(3): may refer to harmonised standards/technical specifications. § 14(4): published for the whole duration of the service, accessible also to persons with disabilities. No specific language requirement in § 14 (Czech required for product instructions § 5(5) and declaration of conformity § 11(2)). (our summary)

Microenterprise exemption

§ 2(3)(a): the Act does not apply to services provided by a service provider that is a microenterprise; definition § 3(p) by reference to Art. 2(3) of Annex I to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014; § 27(1): CZK/EUR conversion at ČNB rate on the balance-sheet date. (our summary)

Under the Directive, microenterprises providing services are exempt (Article 4(5)); a microenterprise employs fewer than 10 persons and has an annual turnover or balance sheet total not exceeding €2 million (Article 3(23)).
